GEMS Trip to Las Vegas

June 27th, 2009 · 4 Comments · GEMS Information

This past week, Nancy and I traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to present at the 3rd Annual Girl Bullying and Other Forms of Relational Aggression Conference. While there, we met some amazing administrators, counselors, and educators from all over America as well as Canada! It was a great experience for us both. Not only were we able to share the success of our GEMS program with so many people, but we were able to talk to them about what they are doing with their girls.

We would like to give a big shout out to Renita Bartlett and her girls at the Calgary Family Services center in Calgary Alberta, Canada. They participate in a program called Spirit. We are looking forward to connecting our GEMS girls with these young ladies through blogs on our website!

And finally, we are excited to announce that GEMS has gone international! Alessandra DiViccaro won a free copy of the GEMS curriculum to use with her girls at John Paul I High School in Montreal, Quebec Canada. We can’t wait to get pictures of these new GEMS girls up on our website and share their successes with all of you!

Keep checking our website as well as our Facebook page to see what’s going on.

I am so happy to have won the GEMS curriculum! It’s too bad I have to wait until September to see my girls again! My colleague Antonella and I are very excited to introduce the program at our school! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We will keep you posted!
