Girls, this year’s retreat was the best one yet! With the addition of a new craft, frame decorating, and Officer Christine’s great safety tips and self-defense moves, it was a blast! Some of your groups were able to complete the group juggle using all ten balls, while others just had fun trying not to let any drop. Your skits were highly entertaining, but stayed true to the GEMS way of resolving issues. Taking the time to journal about your GEMS experience will help us to improve our program for next year. And who didn’t enjoy the midnight rice krispies treat (courtesy of Mrs. Carney) outside? The most emotional part of the night was the candle pass ceremony. The movie was great (although some of you giggled throughout it). Finally, the GEMifying ceremony the next morning honored your hardwork throughout the year with a simple GEMS bracelet for you to wear. Thank you to all of our teachers, coaches, friends, and family who helped to make this retreat possible. Thank you to all of you GEMS girls who share your enthusiasm and willingness to improve yourselves with us - we love you!
