New Year’s Resolution to End Bullying

January 1st, 2009 · 2 Comments · Monthly Discussion Topics

At the beginning of each new year people make resolutions or set goals for themselves. These resolutions or goals usually focus on self improvement. What if we all made a resolution to do something to stop bullying, gossiping, and other behaviors that tear relationships apart? I am challenging each of you to post a resolution that will make a difference in your life and better the lives of the people around you. Wouldn’t 2009 be a great year if we all stopped to think about our words and actions and how they affect the people around us? Remember Jodee Blanco’s words: “Bullying isn’t just the mean things we do; its all the nice things we CHOOSE not to do on purpose.”

I resolve to not be a part of conversations that are speaking negatively about someone else.

I resolve to really try to live the message of the Serenity Prayer. I cannot change other people. I can only change my behavior. The lives of others are not my business.
