4th Graders Learn About Teasing

October 22nd, 2008 · 7 Comments · GEMS Mentoring Program, What GEMS Girls Are Doing

During this mentoring session the 8th grade girls taught the 4th graders about teasing. The girls read Trudy Ludwig’s book “Just Kidding” and discussed the story together. The 4th graders admitted that they were having some problems with teasing. The 8th grade girls listened closely and offered advice from their own experiences. Mrs. Ball was extremely proud of all of the girls who participated in this session. Hopefully, the 4th graders will remember the lesson and advice of the 8th graders and start acting like GEMS!

As one of the 4th grade teachers, I was very pleased with the workshop! It was exactly what our girls needed and they really responded to the older girls! We have noticed some changes already….Thanks!
